Jillian Elson (Jill) is a 33-year-old Inuk woman from Happy Valley Goose Bay, Labrador. a proud mom of two beautiful children Hope and Perry Elson, their family is also an approved foster home with the province.  This is something very dear to our hearts that we are very proud of being able to do for our people. To keep Indigenous children in their homes, close to their family, and practising their culture is very important to us as a family.

Jill holds a diploma in Community Recreation and Leadership also Practical Nursing. She is not working in the nursing field any longer as her passion is with community-based programing. However, she uses the skills that she has learned as a nurse day to day. Jill has recently completed the ASIST Train the Trainer course and can now provide ASIST training to other people.

Jill is passionate about all sorts of topics & gives her best to advocate for people. Some things she feels very strongly about are Food Security in Labrador, MMIWGL2SPlus, Housing Compromised individuals, education for Indigenous peoples, Mental Health, Homelessness, and the Foster Care system in regards in Indigenous children and youth.

Jill is a voice for people and helps navigate services for them she feels that being on this board will give her even more experience as well as being a voice at the table & is looking forward creating partnerships & working with amazing people that hold the same values as she does.
